There is something particularly intoxicating about forests, fields, and cultivated spaces in nature. "The Walking Hour" is my means of understanding that kind of experience, of making those places habitable in relation to my urban life. The pots are decorated or arranged to hint at landscapes. They are not literal places, but impressions of my personal experiences from walking through forest and field. Most important perhaps, is that they not only convey an emotional sensibility through visual cues, but also by means of their utility.
